Ingredients
Topping
- 2/3 cup flour
 - 2/3 cup raw oats
 - 2/3 cup brown sugar
 - 1/2 TSP salt
 - 1/2 TSP ground cinnamon
 - 1/2 cup butter (115 grams)
 
Filling (apples)
- 6 apples
 - 3 TBS apple juice (or 1 TSB lime/orange juice)
 - 1/4 cup brown sugar
 - 2 TBS flour
 - 3/4 TSP ground cinnamon
 - 1 TSP vanilla essence
 
Additional Toppings Once Cooked
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
 
Method
Preheat oven to 180 degrees
Toppings
- In a bowl combine flour, oats, sugar, salt and cinnamon
 - Add melted butter and stir until combined
 - (Optional) pop in the fridge while doing the filling
 
Filling
- Peel apples, cut into quarters, cut out the core and then cut into slices
 - In a baking dish add the apple slices, juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon and vanilla essence
 - Stir until completely combined
 - Spread to an even layer
 - Add toppings and occasionally clump and press flat
 
Baking
- Cover in foil (shiney side in)
 - Bake for 20 Minutes
 - Remove foil and bake for another 25 to 30 minutes until topping is golden brown
 
Allow to cool a little, serve with optional toppings
