Only in Aotearoa, New Zealand is Whanganui == Wanganui and Whanganui != Wanganui but only in region Manawatu / Whanganui, district Whanganui and suburb Whanganui East. (On the North Island)
This is not to be confused with Little Wanganui on the South Island which is region West Coast and district Buller. There its spelt without the h - so I guess no PH (pounced F-HAH)
